Who Is It Suited To?
So, almost every indoor cycling bike is suited to anyone looking to improve their health and fitness.
The JTX Cyclo Studio is no different here.
This can be used by anyone and everyone.
As it can come with a slightly larger price tag compared to the Cyclo-3 and Cyclo-6, this is where your budget comes into consideration.
It’s currently for sale at around £750.
It’s just a matter of working out if your budget can stretch.
I must say though, the features on this bike will certainly benefit anybody whether you’re a complete beginner or a cycling enthusiast.
So now, let’s take a look at the features and see what you get!
Max Traction 25kg Flywheel
Taking away how good the bike looks, I must say this is the one key feature that really makes this bike appealing to me.
When looking for a good quality exercise bike, I generally look for a bike that has a flywheel weight usually between 18kgs-20kgs.
However, the Cyclo Studio has an incredible flywheel weight of 25kgs!
There’s not too many spin bikes that offer that weight in flywheel.
Now, you may be thinking, “25kgs? That’s going to be way too heavy to move!”
Yes, it is a heavy weight when first getting it started however once the forward motion and enertia kicks in you can basically pedal it with one foot.
Why I find heavier flywheel weights so good is of how consistant they are in their momentum.
They provide a really smooth cycle and resemble that of a real road bike.
There is no jerkiness or bumping of it as you pedal – just a clean, smooth and effective cycle pattern.
Durable Stainless Steel Frame
Crafted from a 2″ X 5″ stainless steel frame.
This is a very strong frame that allows you to give it all you got when cycling during high intensity intervals.
You’re guaranteed ultimate stability and durability with very little to no shaking.
What’s great about this bike is that it has duel pedals which gives you the option of cycling with caged foot as standard or spin the pedal round and clip in thanks to the SPD pedals.
It’s a brilliant feature to have as by clicking in your cleats with the SPD pedals, you’re going to get a more effective cycle and pedalling rotation.
With normal caged foot pedalling, you tend to lose power on the pull part of pedalling motion.
However, having SPD pedals it allows your hamstrings to be more activated and provide that extra power on the pulling motion of your pedalling.
The Cyclo Studio features a friction-based resistance to help slow down the flywheel so you have to work harder to keep the momentum.
On most indoor cycling bikes, I usually do like magnetic resistance due to the fact there is less maintenance with it.
However, friction resistance does still offer an incredible resistance against the flywheel.
This is made of a cotton or felt pad that pushes against the flywheel as your turn the resistance crank to slow it down.
Advanced Training Computer
I must say I really like the computer or console on this bike.
It’s clean, simple but yet very well made.
I like seeing big bold numbers on a big screen and this one is very pleasing to the eye.
It gives you all the data and metrics you need to show your current progression of your cycle.
- Heart Rate
Everything you need to monitor and analyse how well your doing.
Wireless Pulse Connectivity
Another amazing feature to have on your exercise bike.
The Cyclo Studio has a Polar Bluetooth receiver installed within the bike itself.
In order to see more accurate results and data, you will need to connect the Polar H10 Chest Strap to it.
This will link automatically and start displaying your heart rate and calculate calories burned.
Now, this isn’t essential but great if you really want to get the most out of your workout.
There are basically 4 different handlebars positions you can grip whilst cycling.
Whether your really digging deep, off the saddle and getting into racing mode or simply sitting back and catching your breathe.
These handlebar positions are designed perfectly in order for you to get the most out of your cycle but remain comfortable at the same time.
Large Tablet Holder
The Cyclo Studio also offers a large tablet holder where you can sit your tablet or mobile phone on and watch and workout to an online cycling class or listen to your favourite music.
It’s a handy feature to have and definitely makes your workout more enjoyable!
Large Resistance Crank & Emergency Stop
When your up at a high resistance, your legs are burning and your gasping for every breathe, the last thing you want to do be doing is searching for the resistance crank to turn it down or off.
JTX understand that people need access to this right away and so their resistance crank is a great size so you can grab and turn to your required resistance.
No need for looking down and ultimately losing your concentration.
All in all, I must say I really like the JTX Cyclo Studio bike.
It’s a great commercial bike designed for home use.
The heavy 25kg flywheel, duel pedals and appealing computer console really sell it for me.
I think anyone who is looking for a good quality, well-made exercise bike will find this bike incredible to use.
Being able to link your heart rate up to the bike and read your own personal workout data makes for another awesome feature.
Usually you would find this on bikes over £1,000 so it’s a great price for everything you get.
If you do have any questions about it, send me a message and I’ll be sure to get back to you.
